1000s

                                           episode three

1000s

In this episode we cover the hundred years between the turn of the century in 1000 and the year 1100.

Beginning with the rule of Canute the Great and the Danes, we follow the early formation of the country through ruler after ruler until the Norman conquest of 1066.

With William the Conqueror as king of England, we start to see some of the greatest developments of the time; the building of some of the country's greatest castles, the Domesday Book, and the brutal 'harrying of the north'
